On Friday February 17th, the intermediate division will be heading north to the Georgina Recreational Outdoor Campus (The ROC).
We will be enjoying a morning of outdoor team building activities and an afternoon of tubing.

Follow up homework:

Based on the information from the above question, What do you think is the sum of the angles in a triangle? WHY? - Prove it.

- side measurements, angle measurements, and lines of symmetry drawn in.
For tomorrow - What is the sum of the interior angles of your quadrilaterals?
Come with three examples of similar quadrilaterals.

Thank you to everyone who made it in on this icy winter day!
We got a lot done prepping for up coming assessment challenges.

Tomorrow is day three - we will attempt to go outside. Please dress to go out.

Math
As a class we worked on this problem:

A wooded area is in the shape of a trapezoid whose bases measure 128 m and 92 m and its height is 40 m. A 4 m wide walkway is constructed which runs perpendicular from the two bases. Calculate the area of the wooded area after the addition of the walkway.

We also prepared ourselves for the upcoming final assessment in our math journals.
Further prep is available in the textbook  - chapter five.

Literacy
Poetry Slam!
Everyone who submitted their poem to me has received individualized feedback as to how to improve your poem.
Today we worked on the format of the writing to make it performance ready and easy to read. Try to break out of paragraphs and create almost a script.
We also continued working on vocal techniques and gesture.
Our class slam is one week today!!!

History
