We do this all the time when we are shopping. What method works best for you?

Wangari
Next week we will begin a major project stemming from our study of Walking Home and Wangari Maathai. Please spend some time thinking about what topic you are interested in pursuing. Something about Kenya? The Greenbelt Movement? Land development for crop production? Nobel Prize winners?

Orbiting Jupiter
Today we talked about theme - the message, or life lesson the author wants us to get out of the book. The tough thing is that the author doesn't come out and say what the theme is. We have to figure it out through the details and evidence in the text.
Tonight - based on what we know already, make a prediction on what one theme of this book might be. Write down evidence from the book that has led you to this prediction.
